Why Hire a Professional Pet Sitter?

Benefits to your pet include:

  • Staying at home in his/her safe, secure environment
  • Being surrounded by familiar sights, smells and sounds
  • Following his/her regular diet and exercise routine
  • Having play time
  • Receiving love and personal attention
  • Maintaining medical treatment, when required
  • Having someone responsible in case of an emergency
  • Eliminating the trauma of travel or an unfamiliar environment
  • Ensuring good health (no exposure to other animals' illness or parasites)

For the Parents

Benefits to you include:

  • Knowing that your pet is in caring, loving hands
  • Having the confidence that the pet sitter can deal with other issues - such as pet related problems, vet visits
  • Knowing your pet sitter has the knowledge required to insure your pets safety
  • Eliminating the trauma of having to transport and leave your pet
  • Not having to impose on family, friends or neighbors
  • Feeling your home is more secure (with someone going in and out several times a day)

Not all pet sitters are created equal, nor are they all professional.  In hiring a pet sitter, it is important to make sure you have chosen the right person to care for your beloved animal.

What Is The Meet and Greet?

The Meet and Greet is when the pet sitter, the pet/s and pet owner meet each other.  It is a chance to get to know your precious pets and some of their particular behaviors.  Each pet has its own unique personalities that the pet sitter will need to understand.  Where is Wilsons hidey spot?  What time does Phoebe eat? The Meet and Greet is usually 45 minutes and is free of charge.

Why Is The Meet and Greet So Important?

The Meet and Greet is very necessary and important.  We need to know your pet, his/her needs and your needs.  Everyone MUST be on the same page when it comes to the care of your pet. By the end of the visit you will be assured that your babies are being cared for in the most loving, caring and professional manner.  Keys are discussed at this time. One important fact: if an emergency arises you can call us and schedule an appointment by phone within 24 hours (schedule permitting), we just update any information that may have changed since our last sit or visit.

What Does A Normal Visit Consist Of?

The normal visit is 20 to 30 minutes.  In that time we feed, water, potty break, litter box clean, play, and give the pet all the lovin' it desires.  We also take care of the home, bring in the mail/newspaper, take out trash/recyclables, rotate lights/blinds, or water plants.

Why Do You Not Board Pets In Your Home?

My insurance does not allow me to care for pets in my home.

What about having a family member or neighbor pet sit for me?

This can be a great option for your pets! Your pets can stay in their familiar, comfortable home, while a friend or family member comes by during the day or at night. There are a few things to consider, however:

  •        Friends and neighbors don't carry pet sitting insurance. If something is lost, damaged, or stolen due to their negligence (even if it's unintentional) they may not have the ability to replace it. With an insured professional, you have the peace of mind of knowing that if something goes wrong, you're covered.
  •        Depending on how long you're gone, friends or family may start to feel imposed upon or put-out. With a professional pet sitter, you know we are eager to care for your pets! It's our livelihood! You can't impose on us - we love your calls!
  •        A professional pet sitter has a lot at stake. We put our professional reputation on the line with every visit, which is why we strive to provide only top-notch service. We pay attention to the details, and we work very hard to make sure that you and your pets are not just satisfied, but delighted with our service. A friend or neighbor, especially one you don't know very well, doesn't have the same incentive to provide the highest quality care for your pets and home.
  •        Non-professionals can certainly handle the essentials of pet care. But in an emergency, having pet first-aid and CPR training, as well as the experience and skills to transport a wounded pet, is critical. We hate to think of anything
going wrong while we're away! But emergencies can arise at any time. Knowing that a trained professional pet sitter is there with your furry loved ones while you away gives you peace of mind.
